Nargiz Zeynalova, the Director of the Risks Management Department of “Bank of Baku” was elected the Risk Manager of the Year for 2012. This title was awarded to Nargiz Zeynalova by the Azerbaijan Risk Professional Association (ARPA).
The award was made to Ms Zeynalova by the unanimous vote of members of the ARPA.
Nargiz Zeynalova has 10 years of experience with “Bank of Baku”. During this time Ms Zeynalova advanced from the position of the Junior Specialist of the Loans and Guarantees Section of the Loans Department to the position of the Director of the Risks Management Department.
Nargiz khanum notes that the risks management is a specific area of work. In response to a question what are the primary sources for the risks for the banking sector today, Nargiz khanum said: “Where there is a fast development, there are a lot of risks. Daily and fast increases in the volume of the consumer loans portfolio cause increase in customers’ debts. In such a case, any inaccuracy in evaluation of a customer or failure to obtain an accurate information may lead to delays and defaults in performance of obligations. Today, the number of institutions which offer loans to customers is growing and it is getting more difficult to exercise control over a credit history of customers”.
As to the title of the Risk Manager of the Year, Nargiz khanum treats this as an appreciation of her daily efforts and work. She said: “This is not appreciation of my personal efforts, this is an appreciation to our bank at large for its work in the field of risks management. Risks management is not a work done by a single person, this is a team work.”
